The Bridgend Yurt
An Authentic Mongolian Retreat on the Isle of Arran.
If you’re looking for a quiet, solid base to explore Arran or just to put your feet up and relax, our traditional 19ft yurt sits in a nice, elevated spot on the site with a brilliant views across Machrie Moor over to Kintyre and to the hills of the Arran UNESCO Global Geopark.
We built and set up the surrounding space ourselves with the help of family and friends. We put a lot of hard work into getting everything just right, and we've tried to make it a great place to just unwind.
Inside the Yurt.
We’ve kept the inside simple, clean, and comfortable. There is a king size bed with crisp linen, a double sofa bed, and a wooden dining table with bench seating.
We’ve also tucked a mini-fridge, toaster, and a tea and coffee machine inside, along with a cupboard of board games for the evenings. If you need to plan a route for the next day or do a bit of remote work, there is Wi-Fi coverage.

Practicalities & Ground Rules
Strictly No Pets
The Yurt is built using traditional organic horsehair and sinew in the framework, we have to protect the integrity of the natural materials and unfortunately no pets are allowed.
Peaceful Evenings
Bridgend is a quiet site for hillwalkers, cyclists, and folk looking to unwind. We have a strict policy regarding quiet hours in the evenings. If you’re looking for a rowdy group getaway or a party venue, our site won't suit you. If you want a peaceful, starry night after a long day on the hills, you’ll fit right in.
What to Bring & Facilities
We provide all your bed linen, but please remember to bring your own towels, as these are not supplied. The showers and toilets are located a short walk away from the yurt.
To help you pack, we supply a hairdryer, mugs, glasses, pots, plates, cutlery, cutting boards, and sharp knives between the yurt and the outdoor kitchen area.
